Goodbye office - hello remote work

In this blog, we share our thoughts on the remote working transition, its background and an outlook. We hope you enjoy reading it!

We are saying goodbye. Namely from our beloved office building in Wiesbaden city center. We have already packed our bags and are also preparing to work from home. How will this change affect our team dynamics? After all, we have already had good experiences with remote working and have been busy developing plans for how we want to continue working in the future.

The coronavirus pandemic has taught us a lot. One of the lessons we've learned is to move office work to the home office. This concept has advantages and disadvantages that will remain even after the initial contact restrictions. On the positive side, for example, remote working enables companies to recruit talented employees worldwide - without the option of working from home, it is almost impossible to recruit skilled workers these days - and thus promote diversity and flexibility. On the other hand, there is a risk that team cohesion will suffer if there is a permanent lack of face-to-face contact.

At audeoSoft, we have coped surprisingly well with the pandemic with our home office strategy and have been increasingly relying on it ever since.

One lasting consequence of this was a lot of empty desks in our office building - not a situation that makes us happy in the long term. After all, we at audeoSoft are committed to efficiency and sustainability. So we started looking for a solution that would move with the times and terminated the lease. And now we have found a new tenant for our office even quicker than expected! As a result, we will be temporarily working from home from mid-September: five months earlier than planned.

This means quite a change for us, as the relaxed and humorous team atmosphere is still very important to us. However, we also benefit from our previous experience in the field - after all, our team is made up of a diverse bunch of colleagues from all over the world - and it works really well. To maintain personal contact, we plan regular meetings, for example in coworking spaces. In addition to work successes, we celebrate the end of the day together with pizza and good music and simply have a good time together. At the same time, we are also focusing on a stable meeting culture and are very excited to see how the restructuring will shape our new working day.

One thing is certain for us: although we appreciate office life, we are looking forward to the challenge of "remote work" in the coming months. Of course, we will keep you regularly updated and continue to provide team insights! How do you feel about this topic? Feel free to share your thoughts with us - we look forward to it!
